These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Guitar Theory Studio ("the App"). By creating an account or using the App, you agree to these Terms.
Guitar Theory Studio is an educational tool for exploring guitar fretboard theory: scales, modes, chords, arpeggios, a daily theory quiz, and practice routines. Every musical tool is free to use, with or without an account. An optional paid tier, GTS Pro, adds the trainer: workouts built from what you miss, mastery levels, progress history and practice records, daily practice plans, unlimited Test Me sessions, an expanded daily allowance of Ask questions, and unlimited saved presets. What GTS Pro includes may change over time as the App evolves.
You can use the App without an account. An account (email and password, or Sign in with Apple or Google) is needed to buy GTS Pro on the web and to sync your progress across devices. You must be at least 13 years old to use the App, and you're responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for all activity under your account.

Prices are in US dollars and may exclude taxes where applicable. Subscription prices may change with advance notice and apply only to future billing periods. One-time prices may change at any time; the price you paid is final and is never billed again. A purchase made on one platform works on every platform when you sign in with the same account.

Any presets, settings, or configurations you save within the App remain yours. We do not claim ownership of your saved practice data. You grant us only the limited right to store and return that data to you as part of providing the Service.
Guitar Theory Studio offers features for guitar instructors and their students. An instructor account is created by us after an application and is free while the instructor has active students; it does not entitle the instructor to anything beyond those features and GTS Pro for their own use. An instructor may send assignments (a saved tool configuration with a note) and lesson recaps to students who have joined them, and may see those students' practice information as described in our Privacy Policy. Instructors must use these features only for their own students, must not attempt to identify or contact a student outside the App using information obtained through it, and are responsible for complying with any obligations they have toward students who are minors. A student may leave an instructor at any time from their account, which ends the instructor's access to their practice information. We may withdraw instructor features from an account that misuses them.
You may delete your account at any time from within the App. Deletion is immediate and permanent, and removes all associated saved data. Deleting your account does not cancel an active subscription — cancel it first through Apple, Google, or your account in the App. A GTS Pro purchase made on the web, including Lifetime, is tied to your account and cannot be recovered after deletion. Purchases made through the App Store or Google Play can be restored on a new account with "Restore purchases".
The App is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or suitable for any particular purpose. Musical/theoretical content is provided for educational purposes and, while we take care to verify accuracy, should not be treated as the sole authority on music theory.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the App.
We may modify or discontinue features of the App, and may update these Terms from time to time. We'll update the "Last updated" date above when Terms change. Continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
We may suspend or terminate your access to the App if you violate these Terms.
